Here's your free 39-page guide
This might have actually been the first guide to home-buying on the Internet, launching around 1999. Of course, over the years I've kept it updated and added to it. Some readers have suggested the information is so good that I should charge for it, but it's more fun for me to share it for free, knowing that I'm reaching more people. This site contains a lot more than a typical pamphlet or even what you'd learn from most real estate agents. Certainly many people have bought houses without knowing nearly this much. Including me, when I bought my first home. In fact, when making this site I made sure to address all the things *I* wish I'd known when I made my first purchase. In these pages we'll cover such things as:
...and lots more. The full list of topics is on the left, and you can step through them one at a time by following the "Next:" link on the bottom of each page. I believe everything here to be accurate, but of course it's "use at your own risk". And by the way, this guide is written for U.S. buyers; things might work differently in other countries. Ready to get started? Then go to the first lesson: The Basics of Buying a House.
